Equipment and analytical techniques
The analytical protocol is well established at HERCULES Laboratories in the University of Evora and will make use of several analytical techniques:
- - In-situ imaging techniques – high resolution digital portable microscopy, technical photography (Vis/racking/UV fluorescence), high resolution 3D laser scanning.
- - In-situ spectroscopic techniques - energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (EDXRF), contactless reflection FTIR spectrometry and fiber optics reflectance spectroscopy (FORS), portable XRF.
- - Microscopy techniques - optical microscopy (Vis+UV) and scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (SEM-EDS).
- - Micro-analytical techniques - micro-FTIR, micro-Raman spectrometry and micro X-ray diffraction.
- - LA-ICP-MS for microanalysis and MALDI-TOF-MS spectrometry.
- - Chromatographic tools (Py-GC/MS).
